Will There Be More Homes for Sale Soon?

Many buyers get frustrated after scrolling listings for weeks.

Nothing feels right.

Or everything sells too fast.

That’s usually when I hear:

"Should we just wait for more inventory?"

"Will spring be better?"

"Are more homes coming?"

And often…

Yes. And no.

Inventory usually shifts throughout the year. Seasonality has become a player in the real estate game. However, while we are seeing a little bit of growth in the inventory, we are also seeing longer time on the market.

But more inventory doesn’t always mean less competition. Buyers have been waiting for homes to be listed, especially in certain locations.

And more choices doesn’t always mean better choices. Sometimes the home that you passed on purchasing because of one little dislike is often the benchmark in your home search. Educating yourself on the homes in the market is very important. The "perfect" home may never come. Usually, there has to be a compromise somewhere in a buyer's home search.

Instead of focusing only on when more homes might come…

Focus on being ready when the right one does or figure out what you are willing to forgo in a home.

That means having:

  • Financing in place

  • Your must-have list clear

  • Your budget defined

  • Decision-makers aligned

  • Your agent ready to move quickly

Because sometimes the biggest advantage isn’t timing…

It’s preparation.
