How Much Less Will I Net If I Sell My Home As Is?

Selling “as-is” sounds simple.

And sometimes—it absolutely is the right move.

But sellers should understand what “as-is” often communicates to buyers.

It usually says:

"There may be work here."

And when buyers feel risk…

They price that risk in.

That could mean:

  • Lower offers

  • Fewer showings

  • More investor interest

  • More aggressive negotiations

Now… does that mean you should always renovate first?

Not necessarily.

Sometimes “as-is” makes perfect sense for:

  • Estate sales

  • Downsizing

  • Major repairs

  • Quick relocations

The key is understanding what buyers will likely factor into their offer.
